Meet Doug Webb, the founder and owner of American Reef Scuba. As a certified SSI Divemaster Instructor, Doug is dedicated to providing a safe, professional, and enjoyable diving experience in Cozumel. His calm and patient teaching style ensures that every diver feels supported and confident, whether they are new to the sport or seasoned explorers.
Doug was born and raised in Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BSBA. He retired after a 21-year career with Union Pacific Railroad as a Train Dispatcher in Omaha. Married for 25 years with a 23-year-old son who shares his love of diving, Doug brings a strong sense of honesty and integrity to his business. His vision for American Reef Scuba is to offer a familiar and comfortable experience for American and Canadian customers who are looking for that standard of quality we have come to expect.
Doug’s diving career has taken him to some of the world’s top dive destinations, but it was Cozumel’s crystal-clear waters, thriving coral reefs, and rich marine biodiversity that inspired him to create American Reef Scuba. With years of experience in both recreational and professional diving, Doug understands that a great dive is about more than just the technical aspects — it’s about creating a relaxed, welcoming environment where guests feel comfortable and cared for.

Chandra Webb – VP Operations & MarketingBorn and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Chandra is the VP of Operations and Marketing for American Reef Scuba, and truly the glue that holds everything together. Married to Doug Webb for over 25 years, the two have built both a life and a business centered around adventure, partnership, and family. Together they have a 23-year-old son, Maddox, who also shares a passion for scuba diving. With her leadership, organization, and creative vision, Chandra plays a vital role in shaping the guest experience and day-to-day success of American Reef Scuba. Whether coordinating operations behind the scenes or helping bring the company’s brand to life, she is an essential part of the team. Doug and Chandra consider themselves excellent companions in the game of life, and that shared spirit of teamwork and connection is reflected in everything American Reef Scuba stands for. |
